Flagler realtor attacked minutes before open house, sheriff says

A Flagler County man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman just minutes before an open house. It should have been just another day of work for one real estate agent in this Palm Coast neighborhood on Saturday. But, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly says that changed when 78-year-old Luis Carlos Da Silva stopped by a home for sale. “The next thing she knows this man entered the home, uninvited, and made a couple of comments to her that it’s not safe for someone to be alone in his house,” said Staly. Staly says the man then grabbed her hand, …

Nova Scotia realtor says Halifax experiencing housing market slowdown

A Halifax-based realtor says the city is experiencing a housing market slowdown like many parts of Canada.

“We’re finally seeing things on the market stay on the market for 10 days or two weeks, which is totally unusual,” says Priority One Real Estate Owner Mark Stein.

“Six months ago or a year ago, a property would be on the market for four days, 12 offers, and then, poof — sold, gone.”

As a result, he says, home prices are softening.

“Consumers are used to selling them quickly, so if they don’t sell within a week or two the sellers are

Agents Can Use Rentals to Fill Pipeline in Down Market

When Ricardo Suber earned his real estate license in summer 2022, the pandemic-fueled homebuying boom was just starting to lose steam. The rental market, benefiting from rejected would-be buyers who were priced out of homeownership, was faring much better. Suber, who lived and worked in Miami at the time, started exploring whether rental transactions could help him grow his business while the purchase market worked through a correction.

But his strategy was never to become a full-time rental agent or simply capitalize on the strength of the leasing market. “Rentals are a powerful way of building lasting relationships with clients

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — Pope Francis on Saturday sided with a group of Peruvian villagers who have complained that companies linked to a powerful South American church group have tried to evict them from their land using lawsuits and obscure land titling schemes.

In a video recorded at his residence in the Vatican, the Pope sent a message of support to members of the San Juan Bautista de Catacaos farmers community in northern Peru, who have been fending off lawsuits from companies associated with the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae since 2014.

“I know what happened to you,” the Pope said in
