TRIBUNPRIANGAN.COM – Unfortunate news came from the drama King The Land, which caused controversy and lost audience ratings.
The Korean drama’s ratings fell after showing an episode depicting an Arab Prince in 2 episodes.
The drama which is currently being broadcast is known to have experienced a drastic decline in ratings in the last two weeks.
The decline in ratings occurred after the character Arab Prince Samir appeared in episodes 7 and 8.
Quoting from the IMDb site, the rating was monitored at 1.7. As many as 99.2 percent of users from Saudi Arabia gave a rating of 1 out of 10.

Apart from that, 97 percent of users from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also gave the drama a rating of 1.
Apart from that, the rating on Google was also monitored at 1.7. A number of viewers expressed disappointment and criticized the inaccurate depiction of the character of Arab Prince Samir.
JTBC has apologized for portraying the character of Arab Prince Samir (Anupam Tripathi) inappropriately.
On Thursday (13/7), JTBC again made an official statement regarding the revision of King The Land.
They decided to edit and delete controversial scenes.
“We revised and reworked in such a way that it could be edited quickly, such as removing the club scene,” said the production team.
While the domestic streaming platform has been sorted out, King The Land still has homework to overcome international OTT.

They will still contact every overseas platform to have the scene removed.
“Domestic platforms can be checked with revised versions, and we will continue to consult with each overseas platform to revise them,” they continued.
